TEHRAN, Mar. 05 (MNA) – The Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held several meetings with counterparts in meeting on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation emergency meeting in Saudia Arabia's Jeddah city on Tuesday.

Apart from meetings with the OIC secretary general Hissein Brahim Taha and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan on Tuesday in Jeddah before the OIC meeting started, the top Iranian diplomat held separate meetings with the foreign ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic and Turkey Jeyhun Bayramov and Hakan Fidan. 

In the meeting with his Azeri counterpart, Amir-Abdollahian congratulated Azerbaijan on the recent presidential elections and expressed Iran's readiness to expand ties with the neighbor in all areas.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of joint effort and action to make regional multilateral structures more active in the direction of common interests of regional countries.

Bayramov, for his part, said that Iran enjoys a privileged position among Azaerbaijan's neighbors.

Referring to the progress of the implementation of some joint projects, the Azeri minister expressed hope that these projects will be implemented and inaugurated as soon as possible according to the schedule.

The two sides also discussed and exchanged views on various other bilateral, regional and Palestinian issues.
