TEHRAN, Mar. 05 (MNA) – Iran’s youth water polo team thrashed Malaysia 34-3 at the 11th Asian Age Group Championship underway in the Philippines.

In the second match, Iran is scheduled to play against Sri Lanka in Group B on Tuesday.

The teams that make up Group B are Iran, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, and Singapore.

Meanwhile, Group A consists of Japan, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, China, and Thailand.

The tournament has attracted around 1,000 athletes from 25 different countries.

The 11th Asian Age Group Championships consist of four aquatic disciplines, which are swimming, diving, water polo, and artistic swimming.

The Asian Age Group Championship is underway at the New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas, Tarlac, the Philippines from February 26 to March 9, 2024.
