“The reluctance of countries to align with the United States and the Zionist regime in recent United Nations decisions is a clear example of the awakening and heightened opposition of free nations against the conduct of warmongers and the isolation of hegemonic powers in the future,” Brigadier General Abbas Jafarinia said at a meeting with foreign military attachés in Tehran on Monday.
He also said that the US failure to impose the so-called Abraham Accords -- normalization deals with the Israeli regime -- on Persian Gulf countries and the broader Muslim world serves as a sign of the collapse of the hegemonic system.
“The insistence of Western countries, especially Americans, to unconditionally support the criminal Zionist regime in recent UN decisions has led to growing calls for a comprehensive change in the structure of the United Nations and the elimination of veto power more seriously than ever in international circles,” he added.
The Israeli regime, backed by the military and political support of the United States, has waged a genocidal war against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since early October. At least 25,295 Palestinians have been killed since the war began, mostly women and children.
