Owji made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada on Monday, saying that he had good negotiations with the minister of energy of Nicaragua during his recent trip to the Central American country and that Iran is prepared to export technical and engineering services to Nicaragua.
Referring to the fact that the mutual relationship between Iran and Nicaragua has been improving during the tenure of President Ebrahim Raeisi, Owji stated that it is crucial to set up technical and specialized committees to accelerate the implementation of bilateral agreements.
Moncada, for his part, pointed to the significance of refinery projects in the eyes of Nicaraguan officials, expressing strong enthusiasm for holding joint commission meetings between the two countries to expedite the usage of capacities of Iranian oil industry experts in Nicaragua’s refinery projects.
He referred to his fourth visit to Iran over the 2.5 years, saying that Iran’s oil minister became aware of Nicaragua’s requirements concerning oil refinery.
