TEHRAN, Dec. 21 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has discussed the Gaza war with his South African counterpart, saying that efforts by the two countries to help bring an end to the war are of paramount importance.

Amir-Abdollahian and Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor spoke on the phone on Wednesday night, discussing Gaza and other issues of mutual interest.

The top Iranian diplomat hailed South Africa over its firm stance on Gaza.

Pandor, for her part, said that the South African people are approving of their government’s support for Gaza and ending Israeli crimes.

In this regard, she added, the South African government has handed over an official request to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to investigate the crimes committed against the Palestinian people.

Amir-Abdollahian spoke with his South African counterpart hours after he returned from Qatar where he held talks with Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, and Head of Hamas’ Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh on the Gaza war.
