TEHRAN, Dec. 11 (MNA) – The MoU of the 15th meeting of the High Committee on Iran, Syria Economic Cooperation and six more cooperation documents were signed by Iran and Syria high-ranking officials.

Following the meeting of the heads of Iran, Syria Joint Economic Commission in Tehran starting on December 6, during the visit of Mohammad Mokhber, the First Vice President of Iran with Hussein Arnous, Prime Minister of Syria, the MoU of the Committee and 6 cooperation documents were inked by the two sides. 

Mohammad Samer al-Khalil, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of Syria, speaking with Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, stated, "The implementation of the agreements made between the two countries is becoming operational very quickly, so that the 15-year negotiations between Iran and Syria have achieved implementation during the last one year".

Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, as the Heads of Iran and Syria Joint Economic Commission, attending the concluding meeting of the 15th High Committee on Iran, Syria Economic Cooperation said that: "In this meeting, in addition to the MoU of the 15th meeting of the High Committee of Iran, Syria Economic Cooperation, six more documents in the fields of "Amendment of Free Trade Agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic", "Tourism Cooperation", "Antiquities and Museum" and "Sports Cooperation" were signed by both sides and five committees for following up their implementations were also formed. 

During Iran President's visit to Syria in May, 16 cooperation documents were signed between the two countries, and we attempt to implement these current cooperation documents and agreements, Bazrpash further added. 

In the 15th meeting of the High Committee of Iran, Syria Economic Cooperation, many agendas were discussed and exchanged in different sectors including oil, gas, electricity, industry, free trade, tourism, education, and combating sand and dust.

Also, an agreement was concluded between the two countries in the fields of reconstruction of damaged factories in Syria by Iranian companies, the export of technical and engineering services, and cooperation in the agricultural sector, and five committees were also formed to follow up their implementation. 

Syrian Prime Minister, Hossein Arnous, arrived in Tehran on December 8 at the head of a high-ranking delegation at the invitation of Iran First Vice President and left Tehran yesterday. 

On the sidelines of the 15th meeting of the High Committee of Iran, Syria Economic Cooperation, Arnous had meetings with Iran President and Speaker of Parliament.
