TEHRAN, Dec. 10 (MNA) – Iran and Syria have signed a cooperation document on sports cooperation.

The document was signed as part of a visit to Tehran by a high-ranking Syrian delegation on Saturday.

Iran’s Sports Minister Kiumars Hashemi and Syria’s Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer al-Khalil signed the document.  

The signing ceremony was participated by Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber and Syria’s Prime Minister Hussein Arnous.

The document is seen as a roadmap for the expansion of sports diplomacy between the two countries which will include cooperation on holding friendly games, participating in sports events and tournaments, festivals and camps, exchange of experts, coaches, and referees, and supporting the stances of each other in international events.
