TEHRAN, Oct. 06 (MNA) – Iranian freestyle wrestler Rahman Amouzad took a silver medal in the 2022 Asian Games on Friday.

Amouzad lost to Mongolia’s Tulga Tumur-Ochir 11-1 in the final bout of men’s freestyle 65kg.

He had Abbos Rakhmonov from Uzbekistan 12-6, Japan’s Kaiki Yamaguchi 2-1, China’s WEI Baowen Wei 6-0 and Indian Bajrang 8-1 on his way to the final.

With more than 12,000 competitors from 45 nations and territories, the Asian Games has more participants than the Olympics.

Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
