TEHRAN, Nov. 4 (MNA) -- On Saturday, November 4, hundreds of students joined people from all walks of life to stage a demonstration in the Iranian capital to observe the National Day of Struggle Against the Global Arrogance, which is also known as Students’ Day.

Demonstrators congregated in front of the former U.S. embassy in Tehran, which is also called the “Den of Spies”, to mark both the anniversary of the seizure of the U.S. embassy by Iranian students in 1979 and also the exile anniversary of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the late Imam Khomeini, in 1964.

Protestors shouted slogans condemning the United States and the Zionist regime for their plots against Iran and the atrocities committed against the defenseless Palestinians.

“Down with the U.S.A.”, “Unity and resistance are the secrets to victory” and “Israel is a cancerous tumor in the region” were some of the slogans chanted by the crowd.

In his address to the demonstrators, Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said that the United States’ conspiracies against Iran were revealed after the students following the guidelines of the late Imam Khomeini seized the U.S. embassy.

Although 27 years have passed since the seizure of the “Den of Spies”, the United States has never recognized the realities of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, he added.

Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Washington has always sought excuses to pressure Iran, such as the human rights, democracy, and nuclear energy issues, Haddad-Adel noted.

In conclusion, the Majlis speaker pointed to the solidarity and unity between the Iranian nation and government and said the Iranian nation would deliver a severe response to any foreign threat.
