TEHRAN, Nov. 25 (MNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Sun. that enemies of Iran want the country to turn a blind eye to and remain silent in the face of their crimes in the region.

President Rouhani made the remarks during a meeting on Sunday attended by Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei, as well as heads of government branches, a group of government officials, ambassadors of Islamic countries and participants in the 32nd International Conference on Islamic Unity currently underway in Tehran.

The President called the US administration “a self-affected lot” whose words have no worth and credibility, and no one agrees with their reasoning.

They have chosen the path of sanctions to exert pressure on the great Iranian nation, Rouhani added.

He said a group of extremists, under the disguise of Christians, Jews and Muslims, have infiltrated the region and promote the “racist ideologies” of a “fabricated regime”, and massacre the innocent people of Yemen and Palestine on a daily basis. He said the question now is how these people have found each other, implying the connection between the US and some Arab countries in the region.

The president maintained that the enemies of the Iranian nation only want one thing from Iran, which has nothing to do with the country’s nuclear program and the JCPOA; “they only want us to turn a blind eye to whatever they are doing in the region. They want us to remain silent and do nothing about their wrongdoings in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and North Africa.”

“Our path is determined,” said Rouhani, adding “we deem our neighbors in the region our brothers and the security of the region in line with our own.”

“We are extending a hand in friendship toward all Muslims in the world,” the president stressed.
