Chairman of the Political and International Research Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Kazem Sajjadpour, held talks with Japan’s Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Takeo Mori, on Wednesday in Tokyo.
During the meeting, the Japanese diplomat welcomed the holding of the 10th round of political talks between Iran and Japan, voicing hope that such round tables would bring the two countries closer in terms of economic and political relations.
Sajjadpour, for his part, noted the 90th anniversary of Iran-Japan diplomatic relations in 2019, expressing hope that the implementation of plans and agreements would further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides also called for the continuation of the JCPOA, and the need to preserve peace and stability in the region.
Sajjadpour is in Japan to take part at the 10th joint round table of the two countries’ research institutions.
