TEHRAN, Nov. 13 (MNA) – Attaché of the Romanian embassy in Iran said the two countries should broaden economic, trade and tourism relations.

Bogdan Pakorari referred to his country's long-standing relations with the Islamic Republic and called for expansion of bilateral ties with Iran, especially with the port city of Bandar-e Anzali.

He made the remarks during a meeting with the mayor of Anzali and some parliamentarians, which was held in the port city on Tuesday.

He noted that “Anzali and Tulcea should become twin towns”, saying necessary conditions need to be provided for a comprehensive development of relations between the two countries.

Pakorari said Anzali has particular attractions that provide the grounds for the development of inclusive relations.

Noting that Anzali has been well-known as a gateway to Europe, he expressed hope that Romania could use the port city as a safe water route linking Europe to the Central Asian states.
