TEHRAN, Nov. 03 (MNA) – Iran has strongly condemned a terrorist attack on a bus carrying Christian pilgrims in Egypt, killing seven people and wounding 19 others.

In a statement on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi condemned the terrorist attack on a bus carrying Christian Egyptians, and extended his deep condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families of victims and the wounded.  

Gunmen opened fire on on a bus carrying Christian pilgrims on their way to a remote desert monastery south of the Egyptian capital of Cairo, killing seven people and wounding 19, Egyptian officials said.

The local ISIL affiliate claimed responsibility for the attack.
