TEHRAN, Oct. 28 (MNA) – Iranian speed climber Reza Alipour snatched the bronze medal in men’s category at the final stage of 2018 International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup tournament in Xiamen, China.

The final stage of the 2018 International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup tournament kicked off on Saturday in Xiamen, and the season titles and podiums for speed, lead and combined were determined on Sunday.

The Iranian sportsman, nicknamed “Vertical World's Fastest Man”, clocked 7.60 seconds to finish third at the 2018 International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup tournament in Southeast China's coastal city of Xiamen.

The final stage of the tournament was held with 38 speed climbers competing for the season titles. Iran’s Reza Alipour finished third after rivals from France and Indonesia.

His bronze on Sunday came as the ‘Asiatic cheetah’ had snatched another bronze at the preliminary stage of the IFSC tournament held in Wujiang, China, after clocking 5.76 seconds.

The two other Iranian sportsmen competing in the final stage, Milad Alipour and Ehsan Delfanian, stood at 21st and 25th place, respectively.

Alipour won a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.
