TEHRAN, Aug. 12 (MNA) – The IRGC rejected anti-Islamic revolution media claim that in the recent clashes with a team of terrorists at the northwestern borders its troops had suffered any casualties.

The deputy coordinator of IRGC Hamzeh Seyyedoshohada base Major General Khalilzadeh said on Saturday afternoon about the clashes with a team of anti-Islamic Revolution terrorists in the Oshnaviyeh county in West Azerbaijan province on Saturday morning that none of their troops was killed or injured in the clashes.

He said that during early hours of Saturday at around 3 am, a team of anti-Revolution terrorists were discovered and ambushed while they were trying infiltrate into the country through a border area in the Oshnaviyeh county in West Azerbaijan province and 11 of them were killed.

He rejected some foreign-based media reports that a number of IRGC troops had also been killed in the clashes, vowing a swift response to any move by the anti-Revolution elements.

In a statement on Saturday, the IRGC announced that it had managed to disband a terrorist group and kill 11 terrorists intending to enter Iran through Oshnaviyeh in northwestern Iran.
