“The enemies of Iran are after flaring the psychological impact of sanctions on the public opinion by making Iranians believe [in the effect of] sanctions,” said the Iranian Parliament Director General for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
The official made the remarks on Tuesday while receiving a group of media and press representatives from India.
He said that relations between Iran and India are rooted in historical and cultural ties and added that the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches great importance to its relations with India.
Referring to the developments in the region, he said “the Islamic Republic of Iran and India have a common approach to important issues in the region, including Afghanistan and the fight against terrorism.”
Some representatives from Indian media and press also expressed their views on the importance of cultural connections, as well as trade and tourism between the two countries. They also asked some questions about the status and role of the Iranian Parliament, political and economic relations between Iran and India and the reaction of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the reinstatement of US unilateral sanctions.
