TEHRAN, Aug. 01 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani told the Chairman of the Russian Duma's Foreign Affairs Committee Leonid Slutsky that Iran-Russia commercial ties should get improved.

“The role of Russia in the JCPOA was good and there are good, continuous and beneficial consultations between the two countries in this regard,” said Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iranian Parliament.

The Iranian top legislator made the remarks on Wednesday while meeting with the Chairman of the Russian Duma's Foreign Affairs Committee Leonid Slutsky in Tehran.

Larijain highlighted that the commercial ties between Iran and Russia are growing and called for more expansion of relations in this area.

“There are good ideas for developing relations and we are having good regional cooperation with Russia.”

He also hailed the role of Russia in brokering and practicing the JCPOA (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action AKA the Iran nuclear deal) and added that the Americans are obstructing the practice of the agreement. “We have to find new areas to put this agreement into practice.”

Larijain also called for bolstering banking relations between Tehran and Moscow.

The Russian legislator, for his part, described USA exit from the nuclear deal as an unwise move and also underlined that the two countries should form a joint commission to boost commercial ties.
