TEHRAN, Jul. 29 (MNA) – Iranian men’s freestyle wrestlers snatched one gold and one silver on Saturday at 46th edition of Yasar Dogu Tournament in Turkey.

Mehran Nasiri, at 65 kg body weight category, defeated Azerbaijan’s Ali Rahimzada 2-0 in the final and grabbed the gold medal. In his route to final, he had overpowered rivals from Ukraine, the Netherland and Kazakhstan.

Mojtaba Goleij, at 97 kg body weight category, managed to win Turkey’s Fatih Yasarli 10-0 in the first step. Then he defeated Olympic silver winner Valerii Andriitsev from Ukraine 7-0 and advanced to the final. However, Goleij suffered a 0-10 loss to Azerbaijan’s Aslanbek Alborov and received the silver medal.

At the 92kg category, both Iranian representatives made their path to the final bout and the last match of the category will be held between Alireza Karimi and Mohammad Javad Ebrahimi.

Younes Emami, the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 70kg weight category fell to Bajrang from India at the semi-final and is now hoping for the bronze medal of the class.

Yadollah Mohebi, the Iranian wrestler in the 125 kilogram weight division, also defeated his rivals and won his place at the final event of the 125 weight class. Mohebi claimed an 11-0 win over Ungor Ramazan from Turkey in his first match and then defeated Danylo Kartavyi from Ukraine before beating Turkey’s Huseyin Civelek in the semi-final.

The 46th edition of Yasar Dogu Free Style Tournament kicked off July 27 in both men’s and women’s category in Turkey’s Istanbul and will close today.
