TEHRAN, Jul. 03 (MNA) – Two Iranian cadets have reached the final matches in 2018 Cadet World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

"Mohammad Reza Ghiassi" and "Amir Hossein Zare" at 80 and 110 kilograms categories, respectively, reached final matches, which are going to be held later today.

Ghiassi will take on a wrestler from Russia to grab the gold medal. He had advanced to the final match after defeating wrestlers from Mongolia and the United States.

Meanwhile, Zare, who won against opponents from China, Bulgaria, and Azerbaijan to reach the final, will compete against  Daniel "Greg" Kerkvliet from the USA in the final match.

Other Iranian cadets Mohammad Karimi and Mehdi Veisi, who have failed to reach the final, will compete for a place in today’s matches.  

The tournament kicks off with men’s freestyle July 2-4, followed by women’s freestyle July 4-6 with Greco-Roman closing out the event on July 6-8.  Each weight in each style will be contested over two days.
