Iranian President Hassan Rouhani issued a congratulatory message to Joseph Kabila, the President of Democratic Republic of the Congo, on Sunday, to offer greetings on the occasion of the anniversary of the African country’s independence from Belgian colonialism.
In the message Rouhani hoped for more cooperation between officials of both countries to boost and expand friendly relations between the two countries.
The Iranian president expressed hope that in the light of good efforts of Iranian and Congolese officials and the ample capacities and opportunities, cooperation and mutual relations would be further expanded in line with interests of the two friendly countries.
President Rouhani concluded his message praying for the president’s continued health and success, as well as the nation’s felicity and prosperity.
Congo declared independence from Belgian colonization on 30 June 1960.
