TEHRAN, July 01 (MNA) – Iranian cultural Week in Baku was highly welcomed by the people of Republic of Azerbaijan which was attended by high profile Iranian and Azeri cultural figures.

Last week, Republic of Azerbaijan hosted Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyed Abbas Salehi and a number of distinguished Iranian cineastes and virtuosos who had travelled to Azerbaijan for organizing Iran Cultural Week.

Iranian culture minister was accompanied by Mohammad Soltanifar and Seyed Mohammad Mojtaba Hosseini deputies of culture minister for the Press and Artistic affairs respectively.

Iran’s Culture Minister Salehi was the first speaker who pointed to the high welcome of Azeri people from programs launched during Iran Cultural Week held in Azeri capital Baku and said, “high welcome of Azeri people from Iran Cultural Week shows that the two countries of Iran and Azerbaijan enjoy high capacities and potentials to broaden bilateral artistic and cultural fields.”

Holding Iran Cultural Week in the Republic of Azerbaijan is a golden opportunity for the two countries to broaden their mutual ties in cultural and artistic fields, he maintained.

Various cultural and artistic programs were showcased during Iran Cultural Week in Azerbaijan Republic, the most important of which can be referred to screening acclaimed movie dubbed ‘Muhammad, Messenger of God’, performing Iran National Orchestra, staging theater by known Iranian artists in Azeri capital Baku and also in Ganjeh.

Salehi also underlined the need for promoting cultural relations between Iran and Azerbaijan.
Iran’s Cultural Week opened in Baku on June 27 and will continue in Ganjeh until July 1.
