TEHRAN, Jun. 30 (MNA) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Gholam-Reza Ansari met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira.

During the Thursday meeting, Ansari, who was also serving as the special envoy of the Iranian president, conveyed Hassan Rouhani’s verbal message on the Iran nuclear deal to Brazilian President Michel Temer.

On May 8, US President Donald Trump announced his decision to quit the landmark nuclear deal and vowed to re-impose sanctions on Tehran, triggering global criticism.

Following the pullout, Iran gave the European sides to the pact to provide solid guarantees within a time limit that Iran’s economic interests would continue to be met despite US sanctions. Iranian officials have stressed that Tehran would treat the re-imposition of nuclear-related sanctions by US as “grounds to cease performing its commitments under the JCPOA in whole or in part.”
