TEHRAN, Jun. 19 (MNA) – Deputy chief of UAE Armed Forces Major General Eisa Saif al-Mazrouei has reportedly been killed in Yemeni Hudaida, bringing the number of Saudi and UAE-led coalition mercenaries killed in the battle to more than 253.

The fight over vital port city of Hudaida in Yemen’s western coastline between Yemeni forces and Saudi and UAE-led coalition has intensified. Meanwhile Yemeni media reported on Monday that deputy chief of UAE Armed Forces Major General Eisa Saif al-Mazrouei has been killed in the clashes.

Tehran-based Arabic language TV Al-Alam reporter quoted the deputy provincial governor of Hudaida on Monday as saying that in the Saturday and Sunday clashes along the western coastline (Hudaida), 43 UAE-led coalition forces were killed including the Deputy chief of UAE Armed Forces Major General Eisa Saif al-Mazrouei and some other high-ranking UAE military officials.

UAE al-Bayan newspaper had reported on June 16 that Eisa Saif al-Mazrouei was visiting the UAE forces in the West Coast front.

According to the Yemeni officials, the number of the Saudi and UAE-led coalition forces killed in the Hudaida battle has reached to 253 so far.

The Saudi and UAE-led coalition launched their operation dubbed ‘Golden Victory’ to capture vital port city of Hudaida on Tuesday at the risk of exacerbating the world’s biggest humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
