TEHRAN, Jan. 09 (MNA) – Iran war veterans and the disabled ski team will depart Tehran for Germany on Tuesday night in order to take part in International Cross-Country Competitions.

Chairman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sports Federation for the Disabled (IRISFD) Isa Saveh-Shemshaki announced the above statement and said, “this is for the first time that Iran national skier team participates in the cross-country contests.”

Since these competitions won quota of Winter Paralympic Games, “we hope that license of attending in these games will be obtained.”

Most skiers are in good condition for the completion, he said, adding, “since skiers experience their first attendance in this round of c competition, we do not expect them to win the quota but we will make our utmost effort in order to take a berth.”

before heading to the contest, our representatives will take part in a training camp under the two veteran coaches named “Ahmad Kavian and Farzaneh Reza Soltani,” he maintained.

The training camp will last for eight days, he said, adding, “after classification, the competitions will be held on Jan. 21-24, 2018.

In conclusion, Saveh Shemshaki named the disabled skiers of the federation who will head to Germany as follows: Hassan Mirza-Hosseini, Elaheh Qoli-Fallah, Mehdi Hosseinzadeh and Abolfazl Khatibi.
