There are distinguished and positive relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Oman in all areas,” said Iranian Parliament Speaker Special Aide for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, on Saturday.
Mr. Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in his meeting with Omani Ambassador to Tehran, Saud bin Ahmed bin Khalid al-Birwani.
“Oman has played a bold role in resolving international and regional crises and we appreciate its bold role,” noted the Iranian diplomat.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always defended the rights of the wronged people of Palestine and the sacred status of the Muslims’ first Qiblah in al-Quds,” he asserted referring to the latest remarks of US President Trump recognizing al-Quds as the capital of the “Israeli regime’.
“Al-Quds belongs to all Muslims, and we, along with other Muslims of the world are against such a measure,” he maintained.
The Omani envoy to Tehran, for his part, voiced content with the expansion of bilateral ties between Tehran and Muscat and welcomed the growing contact between Iranian and Omani officials.
Al-Birwani also stressed dialogue for resolving the regional issues.
The two sides then exchanged views on some important developments in the region and the world.
