Referring to some news recounting the exacerbating health condition of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim, the religious leader of Muslims in Bahrain, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi expressed his deep concern over the endangered health status of the grand cleric, in addition to warning the Bahraini officials, who are keeping the cleric under house arrest, to bear the responsibility for hindering the treatment of the grand Ayatollah.
“Bahraini officials have tightened the imposed limitations and kept the house arrest in place preventing Ayatollah Qassim from gaining access to medical services and trusted physician,” said Mr. Ghasemi voicing disappointment over the situation.
Underlining that the current approach of Bahraini officials in tightening security measures against Bahraini civil right activists and dissidents would complicate the situation in Bahrain, Mr. Ghasemi called upon international community to get into action directly and make effort to remove the limitations, deliver immediate relief, and ease the medical treatment of the cleric.
