TEHRAN, Nov. 28 (MNA) – Special aide of Parliament Speaker Amir-Abdollahian has called on the United Nations to pay serious attention to systematic violation of human rights in Bahrain.

Iranian Parliament's General Director for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in a new post on his official Twitter page, urged the UN to pay due attention to violation of human rights in Bahrain as regards detention of Sheikh Isa Qassim, Bahrain’s prominent Shia cleric.

“Health status of Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim has been reported to be extremely poor and critical,” he underlined.

Later into his message released on cyberspace, the official called on the United Nations to pay close attention to systematic violation of human rights in Bahrain.

It is worth noting that health condition of the Shia spiritual leader Isa Qassim became critical yesterday. House arrest and security restriction against cleric Qassim have lasted for more than seven months in Bahrain’s Diraz district.

Bahrain’s Human Rights Council had previously stated that intense security measures around Sheikh Isa Qassim’s residency prevented physicians from pursuing his health conditions.
