TEHRAN, Nov. 06 (MNA) – The chairman of the board of directors of IDRO Group, Mansour Moazzami, and the vice chairman of Gazprom signed a memorandum of understanding Sunday on oil, gas and energy.

The deputy minister of industry, mine and trade who was present at the ceremony underlined the opportunity this agreement provides for mutual developmental cooperation in the areas of oil, gas and energy.

Referring to the long and considerable involvement of the the Industrial Development & Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) in industry, oil, gas, and multiple other projects in Southern Pars, Moazzami said “the IDRO Group is ready to cooperate with Gazprom.”

“Signing the MoU will enable Gazprom to benefit from Iran’s industrial opportunities,” he added. 

The chairman of the board of directors of IDRO Group pointed out the interactions between Iran and Russia in railway and air travel industry, asserting “we have achieved major success in railway industry, and we are negotiating possible cooperation in the field of air travel.”

The deputy chairman of the management committee of Gazprom, Vitaly Markelov, discussed Gazprom activities in various fields and said “our company is active in 26 countries around the world and has multiple projects in areas of oil, gas and energy on its agenda. We intend to increase our activities in these fields in Iran.”

Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak had said earlier “Gazprom Company intends to produce natural Gas in Iran and send it to India through a Natural gas transmission pipeline (1200 Km).” 

“This project will be completed by 2018,” he added.
