Hossein Jaberi Ansari, the head of Iranian delegation in seventh two-day round of the Astana-format talks on Syria, along with Russian Special Presidential envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev, and Turkey’s Sedat Ünal, met with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the morning on Tuesday.
The diplomatic envoys met with the president of Kazakhstan in Astana before the formal general meeting of the day started.
Situation in Idlib, the agenda of the seventh round of talks, a host of other issues were the topics of the latest rounds of discussion between the top diplomats.
The dialogue between Jaberi Ansari and Lavrentiev out of the main hall of the meetings and in the lobby of the hotel was noticeable for journalists and photographers.
The seventh international meeting on Syria, currently underway in Kazakhstan’s capital of Astana, kicked on Monday with the aim to reach agreements between the negotiating parties on the two issues that have not been finalized during the previous six rounds – exchange of prisoners and demining conflict zones.
