TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (MNA) – Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano arrived in Tehran on Saturday.

The IAEA chief is slated for high level meetings with senior Iranian officials, including Iranian Vice-President Ali Akbar Salehi, on Sunday.

The visit is part of the regular dialogue between the Agency and Iran. Discussions will focus on the IAEA’s verification and monitoring of Iran’s implementation of its nuclear-related commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the implementation of Iran’s safeguards agreement and its additional protocol.

According to the landmark agreement of July 14, 2015, the IAEA is the sole body authorized to monitor and certify Iran’s compliance with the agreement. The pact was signed by representatives from Iran, Germany, UK, US, France, Russia, China, and the European Union.
