Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian Parliament Deputy General for International Affairs, met with Raymond Knops, the Acting Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee, at the Netherlands’ House of Representatives, or Second Chamber (Tweede Kamer).
The two officials met on Saturday in Tehran to exchange views on the latest regional developments, parliamentary ties, matters of mutual interests, and bilateral ties and cooperation.
Slamming what he called extremist and radical stances of Trump’s administration, Mr. Amirabdollahian hailed the approach of the Dutch government and parliament, in contrast, for what he described as constructive stance.
“Trump’s speeches and his words have waged high costs on the international community and Europe should be vigilant not to fall in Trump’s trap,” asserted the Iranian figure. “The international developments have made it necessary to take a more independent and positive approach towards the global and regional crises,” articulated Mr. Amir-Abdollahian.
The Dutch legislator, in this meeting, for his part reaffirmed the commitment of the Netherlands to political solution of the crises in the Midddle East referring to situations in Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, and Iraq.
Mr. Knops reassured that humanitarian reliefs should be delivered to the displaced people in Syria and Yemen saying “human rights is strongly backed by the Netherlands especially in Syria and Yemen.
The Dutch law-maker also called for continuation of parliamentary and political cooperation between Iran and the Netherlands as a constructive and necessary solution for resolving regional crises.
