TEHRAN, Oct. 13 (MNA) – US President Donald Trump in a press conference on his administration's new Iran strategy said the US reserved the right to leave the nuclear deal with Iran at any time.

US President Donald Trump is delivering a major statement on his new Iranian strategy in Washington.

while international observers say Iran has been in full compliance with the 2015 deal freezing its nuclear programme, US President Donald Trump said that the US is taking steps to ensure Iran never acquires nuclear weapons. Mr Trump said the deal was too lenient, and Iran had been allowed to exceed heavy-water limits and intimidate international inspectors.

"The Iranian deal was the worst transactions the US has ever entered into," the president said. It gives the regime billion of dollars to support terrorists, he added. Worst of all, Iran is still able to develop element of nuclear program under the nuclear agreement, Donald Trump noted.

The US will work with its allies to counter Iran's destabilizing activities, put more sanctions on Tehran, the president said.

The US president blamed Iran of multiple violations of nuclear agreements. "Iran is not living up to the spirit of the deal," Trump said.

He said he was referring the deal to Congress and would consult allies on how to alter the deal.

He accused Iran of sponsoring terrorism and said he would deny Iran's "all paths to a nuclear weapon".

He said that US reserved the right to leave the deal at any time.
