Bahram Ghasemi, Spokesman of Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a message to extend congratulations on the notable achievement by Iranian wushu practitioners who landed second at 2017 World Wushu Championships in the western Russian city of Kazan.
The official also wished success for all those involved in the accomplishment in all stages of their lives.
Persian wushu practitioners finished runner-up in the tournament after winning eight gold, one silver and two bronze medals. China won the title with 15 trophies at the end of the tournament held at the Gymnastics Palace of Universiade Village in Kazan, Russia. The third place was occupied by Hong Kong who scooped five gold, three silver and three bronze medals.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Sanda squad, comprising eight fighters, picked up seven golds and one silver to win a historic title. China had stood on top of the podium over the thirteen previous editions of the sportive event. As such, Persian athletes brought home the country’s first ever title in the Sanda category.
