TEHRAN, Sep. 20 (MNA) – In response to US president’s remarks against Iran, Foreign Minister Zarif said in a tweet that Trump's ignorant hate speech belongs in medieval times-not the 21st Century UN.

Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is in New York to attend the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, responded to the speech by US President Donald Trump on Iran.

“His speech, especially where he referred to the great nation of Iran, was so lousy and meaningless and unworthy of a reply,” he underlined.

Iran’s FM said the US president’s baseless statements and his ignorance of realities of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s internal and foreign policies and its fight against terrorism reveal the depth of Trump’s unawareness.”

“Certain facts like support of the US government for the Zionist regime and dictatorial regimes of the region as well as creation and strengthening of terrorists groups, will only lead to further isolation and incredibility of America,” he underlined.

Also in a tweeter message, Zarif said “Trump's ignorant hate speech belongs in medieval times-not the 21st Century UN -unworthy of a reply. Fake empathy for Iranians fools no one.”
