TEHRAN, Sep. 17 (MNA) – Iran and Belarus have signed a transportation agreement at a meeting of Joint Commission of International Road Transportation, which entails the two countries to issue tax free transportation license for trucks.

According to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, Iran and Belarus signed the proceedings of negotiations and the draft of an agreement which requires the two countries to issue 750 tax free transportation licenses for trucks. The agreement is valid until January, 2018.

At the end of this joint commission and negotiations, Reza Nafisi, an official in the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, thanked the Belarusian side for their cooperation and constructive interaction and said, “following the signing of these proceedings, we hope that the way is paved for further constructive cooperation with Belarus as we look forward to closer relations in the area of road transportations.”

Emphasizing the fact that both countries are prepared to expand road collaborations, the Iranian official expressed optimism that the potential capabilities of the two countries for increasing road transit and transportations can lead to further economic and commercial prosperity.

Pointing to the intensive nature of the negotiations, Nafisi was optimistic that Belarusian delegation could become familiar with the attractions of Iran when they travel to this country for meetings.

The head of Belarus’ international transportation organization for his part expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of Iranians during the two-day negotiation and said “I am delighted to take part in these intensive and extensive negotiations and I hope that in the near future I can get better acquainted with this country.”

Stressing further bilateral cooperation, he stated that these fruitful negotiations led to a favorable outcome. He went on to add that due to time limitations, they were not able to address other matters, however these talks paved the way for future cooperation.
