TEHRAN, Sep. 05 (MNA) – Paul Richard Gallagher, the Secretary for Relations with States within the Holy See's Secretariat of State, will arrive in Tehran on Wednesday for a three-day visit.

“Paul Gallagher’s visit is intended to further bolster bilateral and international cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the government of the Catholic Church,” said Mohammad Taher Rabbani, Iran’s Ambassador to the Holy See, on Tuesday. “Bishop Gallagher will meet with Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and some other senior officials of the country,” recounted the Iranian envoy to Rome.

“The level of international cooperation between Tehran and Vatican has been great in the past three decades especially in areas of protecting the institution of family, environment, countering violence and extremism, and spreading peace and equality,” said Mr. Rabbani referring to ten rounds of dialogue between religions held biannually in Tehran and Vatican.
