TEHRAN, Sep. 05 (MNA) – Highly-acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi announced that following his movie ‘Beyond the Clouds’ which was set in India, he will soon begin directing his next title in the same country.

Majidi made this announcement in a statement on Monday, saying the film is titled ‘Gold Mine’. Oscar nominee director says the extraordinary relationship between nature and mankind in India and the country’s environment has inspired him to make his new film in India as well. It is expected that the new filming project will kick off next year.

“All of these inspired me to shoot my next film in India so that I can narrate the efforts made by the people of this country; people whose love of life encourages them to stay strong, strive beyond the obstacles and keep moving forward,” Majidi said in the statement.

He went on to add, “I believe India has an abundance of stories to tell, and that cultural diversity and people of different backgrounds are the birthplace of these stories."

Once again he will co-produce with Shareen Mantri and Kishor Arora to make this film. Majidi came up with the idea for the story of 'Gold Mine' in his frequents travels to the North of India. He has developed this idea after visiting the location in which the story takes place.

According to Arora, acting auditions will start in two months and the production of the film is scheduled for the middle of 2018.

Meanwhile, ‘Beyond the Clouds’, Majidi’s latest movie will debut for the first time in UK. This movie is set to compete in London Film Festival, premiering on October 13 and 14.
