TEHRAN, Aug. 22 (MNA) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution issued two separate decrees on Monday appointing new commander-in-chief for Army and assigning a new post to the former commander.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamene appointed, formerly Brigadier-General, Abdolrahim Mousavi as the new commander-in-chief of Iran's Army.

In the same decree General Mousavi was promoted to the rank of Major-General, to succeed Major General Ataollah Salehi.

In another edict of the same day, Ayatollah Khamenei appointed Major General Ataollah Salehi as the new Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Before closing the decree, the Leader offered gratitude to General Mousavi who held the position beforehand.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the decision upon a proposal offered by the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri.
