TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) – Iran’s FM Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi has condemned the Sun. terrorist attack at a Turkish restaurant in the capital of Burkina Faso, leaving 18 people including eight foreigners dead.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi expressed his condolences to the families of victims of the deadly gun attack at Aziz Istanbul cafe in the center of Ouagadougou that left 18 people dead and 25 others injured.

“Such inhumane and brutal acts carried out by extremist groups against innocent people has nothing to do with religious teachings, especially the teachings of Islam which are based on the foundations of human values, kindness and peace,” Ghasemi said in a statement on Tuesday.

He went on to stress that terrorism is a global issue and requires collective efforts and firm resolve from all countries to be eradicated.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran as a victim of terrorism and one of the most serious in combating this scourge, has made constructive and effective efforts in fighting terrorism in the region and has always expressed its readiness to cooperate and exchange experiences with other countries in this regard,” he said.
