Behzad said the two sides examined and exchanged views on problems in Iraqi customs, the need to increase Iraqi clearance agents to facilitate Iran's exports, taking necessary measures to eliminate illicit payments, expressing concern about the increase in tariffs imposed on Iranian trucks, and the need to abolish some of the rules laid down by the Iraqi Border Guard Council to charge for the transit of Iranian goods.
He added that the meeting focused on important issues such as the need for planning at Iraqi Ministry of Finance to increase bank credit ceiling in Iraq and focusing on allocating the necessary resources to enhance assistance in establishing a cooperative approach aimed at boosting commercial and trade relations.
Behzad noted that the Iraqi side required the implementation of the agreements as soon as possible, acknowledging the complexity of the enforcement process in their respective country.
The meeting also set up a committee to coordinate Iraqi affiliated organizations in co-ordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to better address common issues, and the Iraqi side put on its agenda the immediate arrangement of Iraqi clearance companies.
