TEHRAN, Jul. 23 (MNA) – An official at Bushehr Province Fisheries Directorate General said IRGC's Second Naval Zone forces have captured a Saudi boat upon entry into Iran’s waters in the Persian Gulf.

Ardeshir Yarahmadi, Director of Public Relations at the Directorate General of Fisheries in Bushehr Province confirmed the news on impounding a vessel belonging to Saudi Arabian in vicinity of Farsi Island.

“The boat had five Indian nationals aboard who had intruded into Iranian waters for illegal fishing,” underscored the official.

It is worth noting that the boat was the second Saudi vessel to be seized over the past two weeks west of Farsi Island by IRGC’s Navy forces due to border encroachment.

Farsi Island is situated in the southwest of Kharg Island on the border between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
