The tournament kicked off on Friday at Olympic Stadium of London where para athletes from all over the world have been competing for medals. Men’s javelin F57, held on Tuesday, saw Iranian athletes occupying the top three positions in the prestigious sportive event.
Accordingly, Amanollah Papi managed to win the title by throwin the javelin as far as 44 meters and 87 centimeters. He was followed by his compatriot, Mohammad Khalvandi, who settled for silver medal with a best of 42.18 meters. Meanwhile, Abdollah Heidari stood on the third podium with 41 meters and 83 centimeters.
Iran’s tally of medals hit ten given that Persian para athletes had previously earned seven more medals in various divisions of the international campaign.
Hashemieh Motaghian in javelin, Javad Hardani, Mohsen Kaedi and Mehran Nekuei in shot put as well as Ali Mohammadyari in discus throw all settled for sliver trophies.
Two bronze medals had also been received for the Iranian outfit by Mohsen Majidi in discus throw and Asghar Javanmardi in shot put.
