TEHRAN, Jul. 14 (MNA) – Iranian FM Zarif told the reporters, upon his arrival to New York, that the US must revise its policies towards the nuclear agreement.

“The nuclear agreement is a multilateral and international contract achieved after years of dialogue and negotiation,” said Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, late on Thursday. He made the remarks upon his arrival to New York, while he was questioned by reporters about his reaction to the news that Trump administration is going to verify, for the second time, Iran’s adherence to the nuclear deal.

“Those who imposed such pressure upon Iran, finally found out that they can’t achieve what they want,” asserted the Iranian top diplomat; “at the end they concluded that the agreement was the best achievement to garner, and as the nature of multilateral negotiations, all parties achieved their objectives at the end.”

Zarif noted that Iran’s expectation at the current stage was to see the compliance of all sides of the agreement to the deal, something which has been violated by the US, according to Zarif. The Iranian top diplomat said that unfortunately the US government is respecting the deal at a very low level and their inappropriate policies and approaches show that the Americans cannot respect and support the spirit of the agreement. He articulated that as a result of US policies Iran has not enjoyed the benefits of the agreement.

“We believe that the US officials should revise the way they treat the agreement because otherwise they are not helping to let the agreement survive,” said the Iranian foreign minister.
