TEHRAN, Jul. 01 (MNA) – Amir Ahmad Ansari’s ‘Rabies’, in its 16th international screening, will be featured at Tanzania's Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF 2017).

Directed by Amir Ahmad Ansari, Rabies is a social drama displaying problems and relationships in Tehran's context.

"I just risked to fix everything or nothing ... I would do anything for our child not to grow up in streets where I did," the plot summary reads.

The movie focuses on a fact which says “if the perfect solution is not found for problems soon, the society will expect unpleasant consequences.”

A joint work by Mehdi Madadkar and Ali Shah Hatami in 2014, Rabies stars Milad Keimaram, Hengameh Ghaziani, and Jamshid Hashempour, the 1990s star of the Iranian cinema.

Rabies has already been featured in prominent festivals of Montreal, Toronto, London, Istanbul, and Fajr.

The Zanzibar International Film Festival is one of the largest multi-disciplinary art and cultural festival in Africa dedicated to films, music and different form of art. Each year ZIFF exhibits films from Africa, Middle East, Europe, Latin America, USA and Asia. The 20th Edition of ZIFF will take place 8th -16th July, 2017 in Stone town, Zanzibar.
