TEHRAN, Jun. 19 (MNA) – Chairman of Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi said IRGC's missile attacks on terrorist hideouts in Syria is a new phase in the fight against terrorism in the region.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi pointed to Iran's missile attack on the headquarters of the Takfiri terrorists in Deir Ezzor, Syria, adding the move symbolizes the authority of the Islamic Republic and is a new stage in the fight against terrorism in the region.

"The move brought about a fatal blow to ISIL terrorist group in Syria, and was a serious warning to all the supporters of terrorism in the region and beyond," he added.

Boroujerdi said the Islamic Republic is serious in the fight against terrorism, adding all must recognize that those intelligence services that hold meetings to deploy terrorists into another country will face crushing responses and even more serious ones, once repeat the process.

This capability should serve as a warning to deter terrorists and their supporters to ensure that every other move will be faced with serious retaliatory responses, he noted.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired the medium-range ground-to-ground missiles from Iran’s western provinces of Kermanshah and Kordistan late on Sunday, hitting ISIL base in Syria’s Deir Ezzor in a bid to revenge from and punish the Takfiri terrorists.
