Through an official note, the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) headed by Daniel Ortega confirmed on behalf of the Central American country its "unwavering brotherhood, solidarity and historical unity" with the Caribbean nation.
"Before this unjustifiable new aggression against the Ggvernment and the people of Cuba, Nicaragua will continue denouncing the criminal blockade of the United States against Cuba, condemned by all countries of the world," the text emphasized.
The Nicaraguan government demanded in addition "cessation of hostility and aggressive policies against a brother country, a symbol, example of solidarity and cultural and scientific development in the world".
Nicaragua endorses the statement of the Cuban revolutionary government when it says: "the Government of Cuba reiterates its willingness to continue the respectful dialogue and cooperation on issues of mutual interest, so as the negotiation of the bilateral outstanding issues with the Government of the United States."
The document added "that the spirit of all our guides, teachers and heroes, Marti, Fidel, of Bolivar, Chavez, Sandino, continue on us, illuminating to go forward, always forward and always beyond".
This statement was accompanied by several organizations and groups of solidarity with Cuba as the Association of workers of the field of Nicaragua, who condemned the imperialist provocation of President Trump.
Meanwhile, the Association of Cubans living in Nicaragua also emphasized that Cuba chose for its sovereign and independent path to socialism more than 50 years ago.
In a theatre in Florida, before the most reactionary sector of the Cuban-American community, the Republican President reiterated on Friday its hostile rethoric towards the process of normalization of relations between Washington and Havana.
Trump signed a political policy called "Presidential Memorandum presidential of National Security on the Strengthening of the Policy of the United States towards Cuba", in which he personally ordered the removal of several measures favouring this opening.
