TEHRAN, Jun. 18 (MNA) – Commander Pakpour said Sat. that IRGC ground forces have broken up a terrorist cell backed by Saudi spy agencies in Ghasr-e Ghand county, Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Brig. Gen. Mohammad Pakpour added that the terrorist cell which had been planning to carry out attacks deep within the Iranian soil was dismantled by IRGC ground forces in Ghasr-e Ghand county in Sistan and Baluchestan Province on Thursday.

According to him, a number of mercenary terrorists were killed during the clash, some injured and a few fled, who are currently being tracked down by security and local forces.

A car booby-trapped by 700kg explosives was destroyed during the anti-terrorist operation, and 15 suicide bombs and over 700kg explosives and tens of thousands of bullets and a number of weapons and ammunition were also sized by security forces.

The IRGC commander further dismissed claims of recent clashes with terrorists along the country’s western borders.
