TEHRAN, Jun. 18 (MNA) – Iran’s national volleyball team suffered a defeat against Polish rivals to miss chances of reaching the final round at 2017 FIVB World League.

Senior volleyball players of Iran, who had claimed three wins and tasted three losses in the first two weeks of the tournament, faced host Poland on Saturday evening.

At the end of the day, Polish athletes pulled out a 3-0 victory over the Persians and shattered Iran’s hopes to advance to the next round.

‎Igor Kolaković’s boys offered an unsatisfactory performances throughout the first two sets which closed 25-17 and 25-18 in favor of the European side.

Despite making a late return to the game in the third set, Iran’s efforts to overcome Polish contestants were unsuccessful as the set ended 25-22 with Poland gaining the upper hand.

On Thursday evening also Iran lost to the US volleyball outfit with the same result and will accordingly have no chance to reach final stage of FIVB World League to be held in Brazil.
