TEHRAN, May 16 (MNA) – The new air defense missile systems have successfully passed the operational tests and been installed at Iran’s air defense bases, Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base commander said Tuesday.

“We have made remarkable progress in our air defense in various areas of detection, radar, surveillance, and Identification, friend or foe (IFF) systems,” Brig. Gen. Farzad Esmaeili said Tuesday, adding “the continued presence of these various systems at the country’s air defense structure has allowed constant and accurate monitoring of our airspace.”

“Our artillery and missile defense systems that have been developed indigenously are fully capable of meeting all our needs for engaging with hostile airborne targets,” he stressed.

Esmaeili went on to add, “the new air defense missile systems have come on stream and are being employed in various missions.”
