Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks attending graduation ceremony of IRGC cadets in Imam Hossein University on Wednesday, where he touched upon the most important goals of enemies and the principles of elections to be held on 19 May.
“National security and stability are prominent and candidates should be aware not to create geographical, ethnic and language splits, which is an incomplete plot by enemies; If anyone rises against national security, will certainly be slapped on face,” the Leader warned.
“The enemies have always been against the factors that fortifies Islamic Republic; one of these features is the IRGC the rage against which is clear in enemies’ propaganda and western politicians remarks,” Ayatollah Khamenei asserted adding that scientific progress is the other feature the enemies could not tolerate and assassinated Iran’s nuclear scientists.
“Powerful economy is one of the elements that strengthens a country, which is the reason behind the sanctions and different measures taken to hit Iran’s economy,” the Leader noted and added “military might is also another feature and this is why Islamic Republic’s missile program is so often addressed by propaganda and media hype; yet we would continue preserving and empowering Iran’s missile capabilities.”
Ayatollah Khamenei also underlined devoted military forces as another feature of Iran’s power; “yet this resistant and jihadi spirit is usually accused by terms like violence and extremism.”
“Armed forces, as well, empower the country; security is the most essential feature of a country and its lack would lead to economic and scientific failure,” he reaffirmed.
“Today, Islamic Republic has a government of resistance, which means to stand against bullying from a powerful position; such a government posses its own politics, economy, armed forces, international moves and high influence arena; it is nor aggressive neither passive,” Leader highlighted, rejecting isolation.
Ayatollah Khamenei later touched upon enemies’ goals classifying them in three groups; “We have been able to maintain security in an instable region & a world full of tension; enemies want to deprive us of this; enemy’s short-term goal is to stir insecurity, unrest and sedition in country; the goal is to destroy the great honor of the Islamic Republic; midterm objective of enemy is targeting economy & living costs of people to make them disappointed from the Islamic Republic; long-term goal of enemy is changing the Establishment. When they found it impossible, they called it changing behavior of Islamic Republic; this means to deviate the path of Revolution gradually and, ultimately, move in a path against it.”
“Participation of people in election while observing order, morality, Islamic obligations & law, is source of the Islamic Republic’s dignity,” Leader said, urging presidential candidates to pay attention to economic issues, national dignity and security in their campaigns.
“That wealthy, vicious American Zionist who said he had disrupted Georgia with $10 million, foolishly thought in 2009 of influencing the Islamic Republic which is so great; they faced stout wall of national will and determination; today is also like the past” Leader of the Islamic Revolution warned, underlining the need to strongly protect country’s security during the election.
